Los
Baños has a total land area of 5,650 hectares. It is bounded
on the south and southwest by the panoramic Mount Makiling, on the
north by the Laguna de Bay, on the northwest by the Municipality
of Calamba and on the east by the town of Bay. It is situated 63
km. south of Manila. Los Baños looks like the back of a closed
first with an area nestled along the narrow shoreline plain of Laguna
Lake’s southern shoreline and the northern foothills of Mt.
Makiling.
Mt.
Makiling with its 1,090-meter elevation dominates the whole town,
which is crossed by five rivers-Dampalit, Saran, Pili, Mulawin,
and Maitim and their tributaries, which drain into the lake.
