FAST FACT ON LAGUNA

GENERAL INFORMATION
Laguna was found in 1571 with total land area of 175,973 hectares. The province is composed of 28 towns and 2 cities with the town of Santa Cruz as the capital. Population is 1,965,872 ( NSO 2000 survey).

When to Visit: Year-round; peak season is the summer months(from March to early june). It is also ideal to visit from November to February when temperatures are relatively dry and cool.

Accomodations: Laguna hosts more then 500 resorts and hotels with lodging ranging from native huts to cattages to air-conditioned rooms. Most establishments offer dining and convention facilities.

HOW TO GET THERE

Via the South Luzon Expressway, take Susana Heights, Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao or Calamba exits. Via the Manila East Road, Through the towns of Antipolo and Tanay in Rizal Province.

The following bus lines ply the Laguna route via South Luzon Expressway:
Tritran with terminals located along Taft Ave. corner Buendia in Pasay City and  along EDSA in Kamuning, Quezon City

JAM Transit/H&M Transit/ Greenstar Transit with terminals located along Taft Ave. in Pasay City and on New York St. in Cuabao, Quezon City

GETTING AROUND
Laguna's road network is generally well-developed. Commuting between most town is easy, as there are many jeepneys, tricycles and buses plying the main roads connecting town centers to one another. Renting a vehicle, however, offers added convenience and is advisable for the less commercializaed areas such as Cavinti, Majayjay, Nagcarlan, Luisiana, and towns further east.
