LAGUNA GOV. LAZARO IS TO RECEIVE “DANGAL NG PINOY” AWARD

     Laguna Gov. Teresita “Ningning” S. Lazaro will be conferred with the Dangal ng Pinoy Award as one of the Six Most Outstanding Filipinos by the Buhay Pinoy RPN 9 TV program. The ceremony will be held during the program’s First Anniversary Celebration on July 22, 2005, 6:00 p.m., at Oasis, 169 Aurora Blvd., San Juan City, Metro Manila.

     Buhay Pinoy is a pro-active and developmental tele-magazine show aired every 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon, Saturday, over RPN Channel 9 hosted by Jaimie S. Santos and Patty N. Santos.

     The Provincial Government of Laguna headed by Gov. Lazaro has been consistent in pushing its development programs and projects particularly the flagship Sulong Laguna 7-Point Agenda. This includes (1) Sulong Kagalingang Pampamilya family welfare program, (2) Sulong Kalusugan at Nutrisyon health and nutrition program, (3) Sulong Edukasyon at Isports, (4) Sulong Agrikultura, (5) Sulong Kapaligiran environmental protection program, (6) Sulong Kalakalan at Industriya on trade and industry, (7) and Sulong Kapayapaan at Kaayusan peace and order program.

     The Governor has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognition from various local governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), organizations from the private sector, and national government offices and agencies including the recent Presidential Achievement Award on Nutrition (February 2005), the Gawad sa Pangulo sa Kapaligiran 2004 Regional Award, and the National Outstanding Local Government Executive - Sandugo Award conferred by the Department of Health.

     In an interview, Gov. Lazaro said that the award is for the people of Laguna and that they are her inspiration and courage in achieving genuine progress. “In behalf of the Provincial Government, I wholeheartedly dedicate this award to my fellow Lagunenses that continues to strengthen my conviction as a public servant. Let us intensify our efforts as we work together for a better province of Laguna. KAYANG-KAYA ‘PAG SAMA-SAMA,” she said. # (PIO-Laguna)
