Provincial
Administrator Dennis S. Lazaro files his Certificate of
Candidacy today, December 1, 2009 for the position of Governor
in the Province of Laguna.
He has decided to run for the governorship amidst the clamor
of various sectors of Laguna for strong visionary leadership
in the province that builds on the strong fundamentals set
in place by the current Governor, Teresita S. Lazaro.
"The very essence of leadership is that you have to
have a VISION," said Dennis Lazaro.
Resting on entrepreneurial
leadership and management skills sharpened through the years
in innovative business enterprises and seven years of provincial
administration, Mr. Lazaro bears with him a comprehensive
18-point program designed to maintain Laguna's position
as the premier province of the country in terms of investment,
social services and governance.
Mr. Lazaro believes
in the strong Laguna heritage of hard work and service,
a culture of excellence, and a deep-seated sense of nationalism.
He calls on the Lagunense to utilize these traits, enthusiasm
and fervor to achieve the next level of progress. He however,
characterized this progress as something that provincemates
can bring into their homes, into their dining table and
into their pockets.
Dubbed as the
Spirit and Enthusiasm of Laguna or "Diwa at Siglang
Laguna", Mr. Lazaro puts forth a program of governance
that touches on his vision for investment and industrialization,
agricultural modernization, responsive and relevant education,
economic empowerment through the SME's and cooperative,
and enhance social and family welfare services, brought
about by a climate peace and order, a nurturing environment,
based on the principles of good governance and participatory
leadership. "Pag ang lider at ang tao ay nagsama, lalabas
ang galing ng taga-Laguna!" Lazaro added.
As Provincial
Administrator, Mr. Dennis Lazaro has initiated innovative
changes designed to facilitate and improve delivery of services
to the constituents especially in the areas of agricultural
extension, education, health, family welfare services and
industrial harmony.
Aside from his
numerous duties as Provincial Administrator, Mr. Dennis
Lazaro is also a very active advocate for the environment
as Chairman of the 18,000-strong Salinlupa Ecological Youth
Movement of Laguna.
