Students from the towns of Sta.Cruz, Magdalena, Majayjay, Nagcarlan, Liliw, and Rizal attended the training cum summer youth camp entitled Adolescent Health and Youth Development (AHYD) at Callios Elementary School, Brgy. Callios, Sta. Cruz, Laguna from May 4-6, 2012.
Topics discussed were Discovering of Human Sexuality; Treats Confronting Youth; and Living Effectively with your Adolescent as discussed by speakers, namely: Marian P. Alfonso, Melcy Alfonso, and Luz Somatiza.
The training camp hoped to 1) promote awareness and understanding of the changes (physical, social, psychological) that young people experience when facing adulthood and 2) equip them with basic life skills that will promote their total well-being so that they can participate actively in community development and develop their potentials as unique individuals.
This camp will not be possible without the efforts of District Population Office District IV headed by Ms. Lucy G. Palain in cooperation with Mr. Lesmer Roman, President of Youth of Iglesia Filipina Independiente Parish of Our Lady of Maulawin, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. (Article by Joycee Ann B. Bangay/Edward C. Aquino)
