Coconut Festival 2012 starts today

          San Pablo City, Laguna – This year's Coconut Festival of the said city with the theme “Isang Tugtog at Isang Indayog ng Isang Bayang Nagkakaisa sa Piyesta ng Niyog 2012” starts today, January 7.

         Coconut Festival is a week-long celebration every January in honor of their patron saint, St. Paul the First Hermit (feast day is January 15), and their prime agricultural product, the coconut. During the week, coconut will be showcased in every event, may it be in a beauty pageant, a fashion show, or a cooking contest.

         Activities lined up today are the Pre-Pageant of Munting Lakan at Mutya ng San Pablo 2012 and the Pre-Pageant of Lakan at Mutya ng San Pablo to be held at SM City San Pablo Activity Center, 10 AM and 1 PM, respectively.
