Twenty five families were awarded by Certificates of Lot Assignment from various places of Laguna's District II. They were the informal settlers affected by a demolition, living near the danger zone and people who belongs to the poorest of the poor. Now, they were given a house and lot that they could call as their own.
The ceremony of lot awards was attended by Gov. Jeorge "E.R." Ejercito Estregan, Ms. Liz Humprey consultant from the International Rice Research Institute, and Australian donors representative. A 200-meter road was promised by the Governor in order for them to have a more accesible place to live in. Together with that project, the donors representative also promised them a river control project to avoid erosion in the rear of the property. (Article by Zolan) *
