Korean Member Global Union (MGU), Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Youth Development Affairs Office (YDA), and other volunteers joined hands to deliver the Second Annual Medical Mission of MGU in the Philippines.

The said mission was conducted from July 30 to August 3 at BayaniJuan, Southville 7, Calauan, Laguna accommodating 1,800 patients. Medicines, dentures, minor medical and dental surgeries, laboratory tests, and grooming lessons were given and performend during the five-day activity.

Aside from the medical mission conducted, MGU volunteers also gave away gift packs to the residents of BayaniJuan.

Because of the language barrier and other concerns, YDA staff, AFP personnel, and SDB members served as translators of the Korean volunteers and patients during the activity.

The activity ended with hope that it will be repeated next year.

The event will not be possible without MGU which was composed of 31 medical professionals and 19 student volunteers headed by Team Leader Dr. Yongin Kim and Don Bosco Calauan headed by Rector Fr. Salvador Pablo and SDB staff who organized the medical mission. (Article by Edward C. Aquino with reports from Joseph T. Berba/Analee P. Vergel)
