MMH presents HEPRRP to Laguna HEMS Members

Majayjay Medicare Hospital
October 21, 2011

Majayjay Medicare Hospital (MMH) presented their Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery Plan (HEPRRP) to other members of Laguna Health Emergency Management System (HEMS) at PHO Training Room, September 26, 2011.

MMH was first to present the said plan containing policies and procedures for specific emergency/disaster situations. It also requires MMH to be responsible in emergency management; to observe requirements and standards needed for emergencies and disasters; to network with other hospitals in the area to optimize resources; to coordinate transferring of victims to the appropriate facility; and to document all incidents responded.

MMH HEMS coordinators Ronalene Joyce C. Brena, RN and Jennifer A. Villaruben, RN presented MMH's HEPRRP. As of press time, seven Laguna HEMS member hospitals have presented their HEPRRP.

Disasters and emergency situations are inevitable. In response to this, the Department of Health designed HEMS to develop hospitals' capacity for effective and efficient response to and recovery from emergency or disaster. (Article by Jennifer A. Villaruben/Edward Aquino)
