In recognition of the inborn talents and contribution of the third sex in the arts and fashion industry of the province, the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL) through Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts and Trade Office (LTCATO) Head Delto A. Abarquez, Jr., is launching a province-wide search for Ms. Gay Laguna 2012.
Ongoing screening started yesterday at the Cultural Center of Laguna (CCL) and will continue today, tomorrow, on June 26, 27, and 28. Screening Committee members are: Christopher “Lime” Amateo; John Patrick Baltazar; Kenneth P. Pili; Jon-Jon Ocampo; Naf Kimhoko Jullo; and Warren E. Oliva.
All applicants will be subjected to the rigorous screening processes for only 24 applicants will be selected as official candidates. Once the list of official candidates are finalized, candidates shall prepare their own carnival costume, swimsuit, cocktail dress, and long gown – these are the categories of the special awards that will be given. Other pertinent information will be given by LTCATO from time to time.
The pageant aims to enhance the ingenuity and creativity of the third sex in the province. Ms. Gay Laguna 2012 will received 50,000.00 PhP, crown, sash, and trophy. Pageant night is on August 23, 2012.
