Bagging two (2) gold and three (3) bronze medals made University of Makati (UMAK) the over-all champion for the Table Tennis competition of the 2012 Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) Games.
The games yesterday at Union College, Sta. Cruz, Laguna has been a close fight for UMAK; Quezon City Polytechnic University (declared second placer for winning a gold and two silver medals); and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Unibersidad De Manila (declared both as third placer for winning a gold and a silver medal each).
Table Tennis has five categories, namely: Men's Single; Men's Doubles; Women's Single; Women's Doubles; and Mixed Doubles.
Players who dominated the games per category were: Jose Mari De Castro, Jr. of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (Men's Single); Fredo Sallo and Michael Joe Puno of UMAK (Men's Doubles); Riz-Anne Ramos of Unibersidad De Manila (Women's Single); Mary Judy Ann Tenso and Karen Mae Mendoza of Quezon City Polytechnic University (Women's Doubles); and April Lui Mariño and McKring Cedullo of UMAK (Mixed Doubles).
