Laguna Provincial Jail (LPJ) inmates celebrated Valentine’s Day inside their cells together with their loved ones on February 14, 2016. Prior to this celebration, OIC-Warden Raymond M. Tantoco approved the request of coordinators of Querna, Sputnik, Commando and Female Reformatory Dorm (FRD) to allow them for visit on said day. The regular schedule of visiting inmates was every Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
On 25 January 2017, the Laguna Provincial Jail (LPJ) held its 15th graduation ceremony for inmates at the elementary and secondary levels, in line with the joint education program Alternative Learning System (ALS) or Education behind Bars between the Department of Education and Laguna Provincial Jail. The candidates for graduation were those who passed the equivalency test given by the DepEd.
Forty-three (43) Korean nationals headed by Pastor Nilo Paran of Southern Luzon Christian Mission Ministry visited the Laguna Provincial Jail (LPJ) on January 16 & 17, 2017 as part of their spiritual mission. It is also in line with the religious program of LPJ that the ministry is one of the religious organizations that has been regularly conducting Bible study to the inmates.
