Laguna Red Cross is set to hold its 11th Chapter Biennial Convention on November 11, 2005 at the Provincial Cultural Center, Provincial Capitol Compound in Sta. Cruz, Laguna with the theme, "Committed Leadership and Excellence in Community Service."

     The convention will be held primarily to elect the twelve (12) members of the Chapter Board, to give recognition to active volunteers of the organization, and to report the accomplishments of the chapter for the last two years beginning January 2004.

     Last month, the Philippine National Red Cross - Laguna Chapter bested the Invitational First Aid Olympics for Public School Junior First Aiders hosted by Quezon City Red Cross Chapter in celebration of the World First Aid Day last September 10 themed as "First Aid with Vulnerable (Marginalized) People."

     And it was just last July when Laguna Red Cross received the Sandugo Mabuhay Award for the most number of walk-in blood donors while Gov. Lazaro was awarded with the Sandugo Outstanding Local Government Executive for the CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) Region for her exemplary support and active involvement to the health services and programs of the Red Cross. # (PIO-Laguna)
