Governor Teresita “Ningning” S. Lazaro and Land
Bank of the Philippines (LBP) Asst. Vice-Pres. Mauricio
C. Feliciano lead the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement
(MOA) between the Provincial Government of Laguna and LBP
on the implementation of the Cooperative Livelihood Assistance
Program – LBP Tie-up (CLAP-LBP Tie-Up) that is a program
that will provide financial and technical assistance to
Laguna cooperatives.
The signing was held during
the Third Laguna Cooperative Congress at the Laguna Cultural
Center, Provincial Capitol, in Sta. Cruz, Laguna last December
05, 2006 with the theme, “Coop-LGU Partnership: Towards
a Unified Direction.” This also signals the beginning
and new hope for the cooperatives of the province as the
Provincial Government of Laguna joined hands with LBP, which
is considered the leading government financing institution,
in the delivery of financial and technical services to the
sector.
Requesting for financial assistance
from the Provincial Government through the CLAP-LBP Tie-up,
the Board Resolutions from the Kooperatiba, Asosyon, Pangkabuhayn,
Industriya at Teknolohiya (KAPIT) MPC. Laguan MPC and Palasan
MPC were submitted also during the congress. And Gov. Lazaro
has committed P5 Million to the program this year and further
pledged to provide an additional P5 Million next year. #
