The
Citizens Anti-Crime Assistance Group (CAAG) in the province
of Laguna elected this morning (March 1, 2006) its first batch
of officers during the group’s meeting at the Provincial
Information Office (PIO), New Capitol building in Laguna’s
capital town Sta. Cruz. Elected as officers for 2006 are Edgard
Flores, President; Edilberto Pagalanan, Jr., Vice President;
Perfecto Bicomong, Secretary; Julius Averion, Treasurer; Rufino
Veldellon, Auditor; Henry Sapungan, Sr., Public Relations
Officer; Norlando Calatin, Sergeant at Arms; Ely Nicandro,
Director for Membership; Ferdinand Trinidad, Director for
Communications; and Ramon Alcachupas, Danilo Carillaga, and
Edgar Lovino, Directors for Plans and Programs. Heading Laguna
CAAG is Laguna Provincial Information Officer Christopher
Sanji as Chairman, with Laguna Provincial Administrator Dennis
Lazaro as Honorary Member.
Incorporated in 1987, the Citizens
Anti-Crime Assistance Group is a non-government organization
(NGO) set up to foster peace and order to maximize, if not
totally eradicate, the commission of crimes. It was the very
first among the established NGO’s after the EDSA Revolution
that has reached and responded to the peace and order campaign
program of the government. Its complete organizational set
up has been planned and established to deliver the best service
to the public whether from corporate, government, religious,
educational, professional, or less privileged sectors.
CAAG members assist law enforcement
agencies in checking the tide of criminality and working on
crime prevention. Members operate and maintain radio communication
network to service the requirements of the organizational
in data gathering and monitoring services. CAAG maintains
information-gathering network of various types of criminality
in support to the government’s anti-crime campaign.
CAAG also trains members on
intelligence gathering information reporting/dissemination,
develops security control measures for its members safety
and vigilant posture in crime prevention and control. Civic
assistance is also provided to the government and private
sectors in times of natural and man-made calamities. (PIO-Laguna)
