     Laguna University to Serve the Less-Fortunate Students

    In line with the Laguna Provincial Government’s commitment to promote the right of all Lagunenses to quality education, the Laguna University is now fully prepared to serve the less-fortunate Lagunenses this coming June. This is aside from the TSL or Top Scholars of Laguna program with more than 4,000 beneficiaries from all over the province that are given financial assistance.

     Located in Teachers’ Training Center, RECS Village, Brgy. Bubukal in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, LU is now open to accommodate qualified applicants for the coming semester this June. The university is all geared up to serve and offer accessible and better quality education for the young and intelligent Lagunenses who are financially challenged but are willing to continue studying in college.

     With the reputable educators, the overall governance of the University shall be vested in the Board of Trustees of known integrity and commitment in the continuing development of Laguna namely Gov Lazaro as the Chairman of the Board; Congresswoman Cynthia A. Villar, Chairperson - Technical & Higher Education in the House of Representatives; Board Member Gabnulang Alatiit of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Laguna; Dr. Isabel F. Inlayo, Director IV-A of Commission on Higher Education Regional Office; Dr. Lilia T. Reyes, DepEd - Laguna School Division Superintendent; Mr. Eduardo R. Nicolas III, President of Laguna Industrial Safety & Security Alliance; Mr. Roberto A. Chan, President of Laguna Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Dr. Benjamin Tayabas, President of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila; Dr. Felisa L. Cruz, Director - Center for Research and Publication of San Pablo Colleges, and Mr. Antonio Relova as the Board Secretary.

     Courses offered include Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, B.S. in Computer Science, B.S. Entrepreneurship, B.S. Automotive Engineering, Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts, and vocational courses such as the two-year Computer Hardware Servicing, two-year Information and Computer Technology, and two-year Practical Nursing.
