Laguna Gov. Teresita “Ningning” S. Lazaro extended his applause and commendation to PNP’s RSOG (Regional Special Operations Group), LASOG (Laguna Special Operations Group), and RMG-4A (Regional Mobile Group) with her regards to Laguna Police Provincial Office (LPPO) and Nagcarlan Police for an exemplary showmanship of proper Police Service that led to the successful rescue of the 32-year old hostage Gina M. Brosas in Brgy. Manaol, Nagcarlan, Laguna who was kidnapped by Lagalag Group last May 30 for a P5M-ransom.
It was last May 31 that the Nagcarlan Police received a radio call from LPPO about the shooting incident in the said barangay in Nagcarlan. Investigation disclosed that the joint elements of RSOG, LASOG, and RMG-4A raided the safehouse of the notorious Lagalag Group led by Jacinto Peñaverde and Rolando Lubi who were gunned down during the encounter.
Aside from the unharmed rescue of the kidnap/hostage victim, also recovered were one machine pistol cal. 22, one cal. 38 revolver, two cellular phones, 3 empty shells and 4 live ammunitions of cal. 22 and 3 empty shells and 4 live ammunitions of cal. 38.
Said group is operating in Southern Tagalog engaged in robbery hold-up, kidnapping, gun for hire, and carnapping. The remaining members of the group are already being pursuit who are believed to be hiding in their safehouses in Laguna.
“It is in my intention to further push the Sulong Kapayapaan at Kaayusan peace and order program to keep Laguna as one of the nation’s most peaceful and fast growing areas,” Gov. Lazaro said in an interview. # (CHRIS SANJI)
