Highest number of PGL scholars receive grants

In the history of the Iskolarng Laguna scholarship program of the Provincial Government of Laguna (PGL)under the leadership of Governor Ramil L. Hernandez,the largest number so far at 11,096 scholars from Districts 1 to 4 received their allowance of P5k each for the 2nd semester of AY 2016-2017 amounting to Php55,480,000.00.

 

The distributions of grants were conducted onMarch 18 and 19 at Chipeco Hall, Calamba Central I for District 2;March 25 at Alonte Sports Arena, Biñan City; March 26, April 1 at Laguna Sports Complex Gymnasium, Santa Cruz for District 3, District 4A and District 4B, respectively.

 

Giving consideration to the students who have not attended the aforesaid distributions, the Office of the Provincial Administrator arranged another schedule on April 7 at Hectan Building, Barangay Halang, Calamba City for scholars from Districts 1 and 2 and April 10 at Provincial Capitol Compound for District 3 and District 4.

 

During said distributions, Governor Ramil L. Hernandez mentioned that the administration is not too strict with the grades of the students but they have to pass all of their enrolled subjects.

 

From a total of 6000, number of scholars gradually reached the highest number at11,096 andthe Governor is eyeingto add more in the future to help more youth finish their tertiary education.

The scholarship program of Laguna is one of the priority programs of “Serbisyong Tama” of Gov. Hernandez.
