Provincial Information Office

September 14, 2018

The Dr. Jose P. Rizal Memorial District Hospital (DJPRMDH or JP Rizal) remains dedicated to its oath in providing quality health care services to Lagunenses.

The provincial government under the leadership of Governor Ramil Hernandez has given much needed financial and technical support to JP Rizal in a bid to improve its core services and medical facilities.

The delivery of a comprehensive healthcare service is a priority of Governor Hernandez’s administration under his 8-point program of government.

The JP Rizal, situated in Brgy. Bucal, Calamba City, has newly constructed facilities which include a four-bed capacity Intensive Care Unit (ICU); 30 to 40-bed capacity OB-Gyne ward extension; one comfort room each at the surgical and delivery room; hospital chapel; Materials Recovery Facility (MRF); and laundry area. It currently has a dialysis center that is privately operated.

To boost delivery of health services, the provincial government also hired four doctors, seven nurses, three administrative staff, one pharmacist, and one respiratory therapist.

According to Officer-In-Charge Dr. Ignacia M. Flores, JP Rizal has served a total of 57,931 patients (Admissions, Out-Patient Department (OPD) and Emergency (ER) Department); 54,838 for laboratory; 3,964 for x-ray; and 157 for ultrasound from January to July 2018.

Dr. Flores also added that from January to August of this year, the hospital has served 1,465 No Balance Billing (NBB) qualified patients who are members of PhilHealth.

A total of 120 patients also availed of the Blue Card Health Program Grant amounting to PhP 273,614.00.

JP Rizal is one of the nine district hospitals under the supervision of the Provincial Government of Laguna. (Article by Odessa T. Bearneza/Photos by Angel Bert Sapungan) - PIO Laguna)
