MDO on physical fitness, healing and financial prosperity

Moral Development Office
November 10, 2017

“Money can buy a bed, but it cannot buy a good sleep. It can buy medicine, but it cannot buy a good health. It can buy a house, but not a home. It can buy leisure, but it cannot buy the real happiness.”Colossians 3:1-2 says

1“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ,
set your hearts on things above, where Christ is,
seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds
on things above, not on earthly things.”

This was the lecture Pastor Felix S. Ronquillo of the Moral Development Office (MDO) gave to the employees of the Budget office and the Motorpool on November 7 and 9, 2017 respectively. It is in seeking spiritual fulfillment more than material possessions, the things money cannot buy.

In like manner, MDO head Tita Venie Corcuera delivered a spiritual upliftment and lecture on how to be successful in their job to the DSWD Region 4A-MKP (Malawakang Kumustahan Project) with their continuing pangkabuhayan project for the 4Ps beneficiaries.

Since “Tita Venie” knows the stresses and pressures of the nature of their work, her lectures focused mainly on pointers on how to handle stress on the job. She pointed out the importance of physical fitness, eating the right kind of foods, having a balanced diet and regular exercise. She handed out reading materials on the benefits of different kind of fruits and medicinal leaves. She also told them to pray for the water before they take a bath in the morning saying, “Lord, I pray about whatever spirit is it in the water to please cast it out so that I will not get sick.”

In the end, she shared with them a chant for financial prosperity. She told them to lift their hands and wave and move them toward them and say, “Wealth, wealth, wealth!” as if they are inviting money to come to them, so that finances will come to them easily.
