MISO participates in 2nd Quarter NSED

The Management Information Systems Office (MISO) staff participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) facilitated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) on June 29, 2017.

At exactly 2:00 PM,the alarm rung throughout the Laguna provincial capitol compound signaling the start of the earthquake simulation.As per previous instructions to follow the duck, cover, and hold steps, all employees wereurged to calmly vacate the buildings and proceed to their assigned safe zones a minute after the alarm has gone off. Then everyone went back to their respective offices to continue the day’s work after the assessment report.

The quarterly NSED is being conducted to familiarizeschools, offices, and the general population on how to respond to emergency situations, a vital component of disaster preparedness, especially when the anticipated “Big One” hits.
