Sectoral Concerns Office on manpower skills program

Sectoral Concerns Office
November 10, 2017

The Provincial Government of Laguna initiated a manpower skills training program through the Sectoral Concerns Office (SCO) headed by Mr. Edward Inzon and the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO) under Ms. Mary Jane Corcuera, in collaboration within the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Scheduled trainings are on massage therapy, welding, carpentry and beauty care.

The said training program aims to provide technical education and skills development opportunities, serving as means of alternative sources of livelihood for Lagunenses, who will be “systematically provided with learning opportunities to acquire or upgrade, or both, their ability, knowledge and behaviour pattern required as qualifications for a job or range of jobs in a given occupational area.”

Massage Therapy NC II (National Certification II) started on 23 October 2017 at the Laguna Training Center in the provincial capitol compound. Meanwhile, sessions were also held in the municipalities of Alaminos and Calauan.
