The Farmers’ Field School on Sustainable Pig Farming(FFS-SPF) is a brainchild of the OPV of Laguna in coordination with the Agricultural Training Institute, Region IV-A. It is swine raising that uses the deep litter type of flooring and the feeding of a mixture of plants, concentrates, and fermented juices to the animals. The duration of the training is 20 weeks or from weaning to fattening. Started in 2013, FFS-SPF has produced 378 graduates from the cities of Cabuyao, Calamba, and San Pablo and the municipalities of Nagcarlan, Pila, Majayjay, Magdalena, Cavinti, Kalayaan, Pangil, and Siniloan. It is now being replicated in the other provinces of CALABARZON.
