Cleft lip and cleft palate surgical mission at PPL-Bay

Moral Development Office
March 7, 2018

A total of nineteen (19) children have successfully undergone facial reconstructive surgeries during the free surgical mission at the Pagamutang Pangmasa ng Laguna-Bay District Hospital (PPL-Bay) on February 10, 2018.

It has always been the top priority of Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez to give the best medical services to all Lagunenses. With the Filipino youth as hope of the nation, he is pursuing the best health care service for the children especially those who have cleft-lip and cleft-palate defects whose parents cannot afford to pay for such surgical operation. Operation cost ranges from P50,000 to P100,000 depending on the severity of the defect.

It is in this light that the provincial government, through the Moral Development Office, (MDO) collaborated with the Philippine Band of Mercy, “a private charitable organization founded in 1937 that provides free reconstructive facial surgery to underprivileged children and individuals born with cleft lip and cleft palate deformities.”
