SLO conducts orientation meeting with LGUs

Making sure that sustainability of providing appropriate livelihood programs reaches most if not all barangays in the province of Laguna, Mrs. Teresa Nieva B. Reodica, current Head of the Special Livelihood Office (SLO), established links with local government units (LGUs) by coordinating withAssociation of Barangay Captain (ABC) President and Ex-Officio Board Member Lorenzo B. Zuñiga Jr.for her to be allowed to attend ABC’s regular meeting.

The first orientation was conductedon July 3, 2017at the municipal multi-purpose hall in Majayjay where a total of 40 barangay captains attended; the second and on July 5, 2017 at the ex-mayor’s residential compound and presented to 17 barangay captains.

On both occasions, the presentation included various livelihood programs offered by SLO consisting of handicrafts (paper beads jewelry, doormat, pot holder, straw bag making, crocheting (wallet/cell phone holder/accessories); basic baking(brownies, red velvet cake; mocha cake; art of cake designing and frosting; meat processing(tocino, longaniza, siomai, embutido and burger patty); pastries (pastillas, pulvuron, yema and putopao); and cleansers (dishwashing liquid soap, fabric conditioner and powder detergent soap)

The proper procedure on how to avail of said livelihood training programs of SLO was also discussed.
